Error Type Reference
Error responses carry an error.type enumeration. This page lists each value,
what it means, and what to do about it.
This reference was recovered from the Paciolan developer portal as it stood in 2020, and has not been reconciled against the current specifications. It covers 71 values, but 12 types declared in the Legacy, Link v1 and Link v2 specs are not yet documented here:

UNPROCESSABLE_ENTITY
A thirteenth, INVALID_ITEM_PRIORITY, carried no description in the source
export and is omitted rather than published empty. It is not declared in any
current spec either.
For any specific endpoint, the response schemas in the API reference are authoritative — they list the types that endpoint can actually return, along with retry guidance and app error codes. Use this page for the broader catalogue.
The Entry API v1 uses a different error shape (message / error /
statusCode) and does not use these enumerations.
AUTHORIZATION_FAILURE
We were unable to authenticate your request using the authorization credentials provided. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
BAD_REQUEST

CLIENT_ERROR
The requested resource cannot be retrieved. This error should be treated as an unhandled exception and should be reported to developer support. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_ACTIVITY
The activity referenced by the season is invalid. Please contact the client for resolution. Please do not repeat the request until this configuration error has been resolved.
INVALID_ADDRESS
The patron address provided is malformed, incomplete or otherwise invalid. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_ADDRESS_TYPE
The address type provided is invalid for this request or does not exist. Please do not repeat this request without modification.
INVALID_API_KEY
We were unable to authenticate your request using API key for the application ID provided. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_BASIS
The item basis specified is invalid for this request or does not exist. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_BATCH
The operation cannot be completed because there is not an open batch assigned to this operator/control. Please contact the client for resolution.
INVALID_CART
The operation cannot be completed because the specified cart does not exist. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_CHANNEL_CONFIG
The operation cannot be completed because of a channel configuration issue. Please contact developer support.
INVALID_CONFIGURATION
The facility configuration specified is invalid for this request or does not exist. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_CREDIT_DETAILS
The financial details of the requested account credit do not support cart validation requirements. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_DELIVERY_METHOD
The delivery method specified is invalid for this request or does not exist. Please do not repeat the request without modification. N.B., This enumeration is a synonym for the deprecated INVALID_DELIVERY enumeration.
INVALID_DISTRIBUTOR
The distributor code specified is invalid for this request or does not exist. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_EMAIL

INVALID_EMAIL_TYPE

INVALID_ITEM_LIMIT
The operation cannot be completed because the requested item quantity would exceed the item's sales limit or there is insufficient quantity to fulfill the request.
INVALID_ITEM_SURCHARGE

INVALID_JSON_ELEMENT
One or more of the JSON value(s) provided in the payload body is invalid for this scenario. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_OFFER
The operation cannot be completed because the specified cart offer does not exist or the requested action would otherwise violate a business rule. Please do not repeat the request without modification. N.B., We may expand this enumeration into more detailed subtypes in the future.
INVALID_OFFER_TYPE

INVALID_ORDER

INVALID_ORDER_CHARGE
The order charge specified is invalid for this request or does not exist. Please do not repeat the request without modification.
INVALID_PARAMETER_VALUE

INVALID_PATRON

INVALID_PAYMENT_ACCOUNT_NUMBER

INVALID_PAYMENT_DETAILS

INVALID_SEAT

INVALID_SECTION

INVALID_TICKET

INVALID_USER_AGENT

INVALID_USER_DEFINED_FIELD

MISSING_EMAIL

REPRINT_NOT_ALLOWED
The specified ticket cannot be reprinted due to policy or operator permissions. Please do not repeat the request.
RETURN_NOT_ALLOWED
The specified ticket cannot be returned due to policy or operator permissions. Please do not repeat the request.
SERVER_ERROR
An unspecified server error has occurred. Please contact developer support. Please do not repeat the request.
TRANSFER_NOT_ALLOWED
The specified ticket cannot be transferred due to policy or operator permissions. Please do not repeat the request.
UNAUTHORIZED_REQUEST
Your application has attempted to invoke an endpoint that it has not been authorized to use. Please do not repeat the request.
UNHANDLED_EXCEPTION
An unhandled exception has occurred. Please contact developer support. Please do not repeat the request.
UNMODIFIABLE_PROPERTY
You have attempted to modify a read-only property. Please do not repeat the request.
UNSUPPORTED_ACCEPT
